Giovani Connessi is a project financed by the social enterprise Con I Bambini aimed at fighting youth educational poverty. It promotes experimental paths capable of encouraging the learning of young people by stimulating new forms of expression, different languages and group work practices.
Project’s goal is to reduce the digital divide and the early school leaving phenomena, promoting well-being, inclusion and motivation to study thanks to digital technology. Moreover, during the three years of activity, the adoption of the mutual learning process will trigger an exchange of knowledge between territories, experts and protagonists.
In fact, Giovani Connessi was born within the CGM Cooperative Group network and involves different players like cooperatives, schools, public bodies, universities and foundations. Project’s activities involve 79 national partners in six Italian regions: Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Puglia and Basilicata.Giovani Connessi is made up of eight macro activities or work packages aimed at preteens and adolescents between 11 and 17 who share the same problems relating to change, the conquest of their own identity and self-esteem and the desire to experiment.
These work packages are: WP1 – MEDIA EDUCATION, WP2 – DIGITAL SPACES, WP3 – STORYTELLING: MEMORIES IN THE FUTURE, WP4 – SMART CITY AND NEIGHBORHOOD SPACES, WP5 – PEER EDUCATION, WP6 – YOUTH AND CITIZENSHIP, WP7 – SUMMER SCHOOL and WP8 – SOCIAL WITHDRAWALS. Each of these ones is specifically designed to provide knowledge and tools to middle and high school students with a view to enhancing digital and socio-digital skills, through various practical group activities and lectures.
Tiresia is involved in the design and implementation of a tool for monitoring and evaluating the social impact generated by the project’s planned activities. The social impact evaluation is based on the Theory of Change through the use of the Social Value Chain tool and focuses on two main levels of analysis, outcomes and impacts. Outcomes represent the specific change generated in the short term on the direct beneficiaries of the activities, purified from the “background” effects and from what would have happened equally even without intervention. By impact we mean the social value generated on the educating community in the medium / long term. Outcome and impact value dimensions are designed on the basis of every work package activity. Finally, one or more indicators are associated with each social value chain item to quantify the results obtained. Direct data collection was also provided, over the entire period of project implementation, through online questionnaires to track and monitor the numerous activities within the various work packages in the participating territories.
